The Apple iPhone 17 (base model) features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion technology (up to 120 Hz refresh rates) and a peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits. It is driven by the A19 chip, houses a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, and introduces an updated 18MP Center Stage front camera.
Design & Display
The iPhone 17 sports an aerospace-grade aluminum chassis with a slightly contoured edge design. The front screen is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which offers three times better scratch resistance than previous iterations. The back features color-infused glass, and the device retains the useful Dynamic Island for alerts and Live Activities.
Processor & Memory
At the heart of the standard iPhone 17 is the Apple A19 chip, which features a 5-core GPU with dedicated neural accelerators. This processor enables hardware-accelerated ray tracing and handles demanding tasks smoothly. The base configuration of the device starts at 256 GB of internal storage, providing double the capacity of previous entry-level generations, which prevents the need for cloud storage upgrades as quickly.
Camera Systems
The rear camera module consists of a 48MP Fusion main lens (which also acts as a 2x optical-quality telephoto lens) and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. This setup captures photos at super-high resolutions (24MP by default). On the front, the 18MP Center Stage camera allows for smarter group selfies and features autofocus. Additionally, the device supports simultaneous front and rear video capture (Dual Capture) and records 4K video at 60 fps in Dolby Vision.
